Analytical Writing is an ability and a skill to articulate and support complex ideas, construct and evaluate arguments, and sustain a focused and coherent discussion. It does not assess specific content knowledge.

It is commonly required in academic writing subjects where one has to show relationships between different pieces of information and maintain the relationship and context between them . It is used to compare and contrast, assess or evaluate (for example, a number of approaches, theories, methodologies or outcomes). It has a structure based on the ordering of main ideas in relation to each other and uses evidence from various sources. However, analytical writing does not present a position to be argued. It measure your critical thinking and logical writing skills of the student and precisely examine ones ability to articulate and support complex ideas evidently and effectually.Like descriptive writing, it often forms part of argumentative essay writing but is never the primary component of this type of writing.
