About Biological Molecule:

A Biological Molecule(or bio molecule) is molecule that is present in living organisms.

It includes large macromolecules such as proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids and small molecules such as primary metabolites, secondary metabolites, and natural products. Each is an important component of the cell and performs a wide array of functions. These molecules make up the majority of a cell’s mass. Macromolecules contains carbon therefore they are termed as organic. In addition, they may contain hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur, and additional minor elements A more general name for this class of material is Biological Moleculebiological materials.

For example here we will discuss the biological properties of water,

  1. Best Solvent
    Water is a best solvent for many substances. All important processes occurs in presence of water molecules.
  2. High Heat Capacity
    Water is slow in absorbing and releasing heat therefore specific capacity of water molecules is high as it requires higher heat for warm up.
  3. High Heat of Vaporization
    Water need higher heat to transform into vapors, so water molecules remain stable unless high heat is applied over them.
  4. Act as an Atmospheric Molecule
    Water acts as an acid and base therefore it acts as an atmospheric molecule. IT gives up electrons to form H(Hydrogen) +ion while acting as an acid and gain electrons to form  OH(Hydroxide) -ion in case of base
  5. Cohesive Force in  Molecule
    There is a force of attraction between water molecules which is called Cohesive force, this force of attraction exists in the water molecule due to tight hydrogen bonding which helps in transferring the substance from both inside and outside the cells
